About this event

Autumn Leaves is proud to welcome Finger Lakes-based vintner and podcaster Adam Huss for the local book launch of Wine Liberated: The Ecological Revolution and the Vintners Inspiring Change (Chelsea Green Publishing, 2026).

Over the last eighty years, wine has developed into a global monoculture—but an eclectic group of vintner rebels are redefining the culture and creation of wine. Since 2019, Adam L. Huss, winemaker and host of the popular podcast Beyond Organic Wine, has been seeking out, interviewing, and learning from a revolutionary group of producers who are pushing wine beyond the boundaries of the industry’s hegemony. Wine Liberated explores the big questions about what wine is and what it can become when it’s ecologically minded, diverse, and even more delicious.

“This book gets at something I think about constantly—that wine is agriculture, culture, and place before it’s ever a commodity with a score. It’s a refreshing, clear-eyed read that made me think differently about wine, even after a lifetime in it. A revolutionary point of view, and something we all need to read these days.” —Rajat Parr, James Beard Award–winning sommelier; winemaker, Phelan Farm

This event is free. Join us upstairs on the mezzanine. Keep in mind, seating is limited. Yes, there will be wine.
