Nominees for Guthrie Athlete of the Week for Jan.

4-10 were announced, recognizing local athletic achievements from last week in the community.

Brianne Jenner ’15 and Kristin O’Neill ’20 were named to Team Canada for the Olympics, with Jenner tying a school record for appearances and O’Neill set to make her debut.

Rory Guilday ’25 made history as the first Cornell alumna on Team USA as games start Feb. 5.

Taylor Van Fleet (formerly Bennett), a Dryden High School soccer star and NYS Class B Player of the Year, was named head coach of Le Moyne's women’s soccer program on January 8; she played at Syracuse University and professionally in Iceland before coaching at Binghamton University.

Ten athletes from areas including Horseheads + Lansing are in the running for Guthrie Athlete of the Week for Jan.

4-10; voting remains open until noon Thursday, Jan. 15, and nominations for the week of Jan. 11-17 can be emailed by 6 p.m. Saturday.
