  • The Mehta Research Group at Cornell is advancing precision nutrition by developing point-of-care tests that measure blood and saliva nutrient levels (led by Prof. Saurabh Mehta) to better treat anemia and other deficiencies, with plans to expand these tools globally.  The Cornell Daily Sun

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • In January, Tompkins County homes were listed at a median price of $349,000 — down 9.1% from December’s $384,000 and 22.2% lower than last January’s $448,500, according to data. Homes had a median size of 1,810 sqft at $215 per sqft.  Ithaca Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Cornell’s women’s gymnastics team finished second at the Empire State Collegiate Championships with a season-best score of 192.850 & now prepares to compete at the Ivy Classic Championship today at Yale University, facing Yale, Penn and Brown.  The Cornell Daily Sun
  • After an 11 to 10 win over Albany, Cornell’s No. 5 men’s lacrosse team will face Denver (at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium) at 2 p.m. EST on Saturday. The team plans to secure the ball to counter Denver’s strong defense.  The Cornell Daily Sun
  • Section 4 track athletes competed at Glazer Arena at Ithaca College on Feb. 21 to earn spots in the NYSPHSAA Indoor Track championships, scheduled for March 6-7 at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island — top finishers qualified automatically.  Ithaca Journal
  • Brian Dempsey hit the winning shot in the STAC boys basketball final on Feb. 21 against Corning, helping Seton secure a 66-63 win and sharing his thoughts on the play after the game.  Ithaca Journal
  • Cornell’s men’s hockey team lost 4-2 to Princeton Saturday at Hobey Baker Rink after a strong win against Quinnipiac, with Coach Casey Jones saying mismanaged chances cost the team valuable energy.  The Cornell Daily Sun
