CULTURE NEWS

  • The State Theatre announced Thursday that longtime Executive Director Doug Levine will step down after 17 years—he is credited with expanding performances and attracting new funding during challenging times. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Daniel Gold, professor emeritus of Asian studies at Cornell who taught for 35 years, died Feb. 16 in Ithaca at age 78 — his work in South Asian research and film projects left a lasting impact on academic and local communities.  Cornell Chronicle
  • More than 350 Cornell students attended a one-credit civic leadership course on a Saturday morning in February at Statler Hall to learn about law, health, tech and business.   • Sciencenter celebrates 30 years of interactive exhibits that help local visitors explore science through hands-on learning.
