- ➤ Cornell researchers at the Weill Institute found that DNA parts called promoters and enhancers share the same rules & work together. Using a new test called QUASARR-seq, they measured thousands of elements at once, a discovery that could lead to better gene therapies. Cornell Chronicle
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ In June 2023, doctoral students noted that Canadian wildfire smoke made grassland birds sing less during their breeding season in the Finger Lakes National Forest. Their study, funded by NYSDEC, shows that future fires could further decrease these birds’ mating calls (and survival). Cornell Chronicle
