BUSINESS NEWS

  • The restaurant Chatty Cathy rebranded as Fresh Marché when it moved from Eddy Street to 304 College Ave in Collegetown in May 2025 (adding grain bowls and salads to its menu of acai, yogurt, and oatmeal bowls).  The Cornell Daily Sun

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation announced a statewide burn ban from today through May 14 to reduce wildfire risk — local fire departments remind residents to follow DEC and any stricter local rules.  14850
  • Ithaca and Tompkins County will use a $250K grant from the Municipal Investment Fund to plan new clean energy projects—working with Community Sustainability Partners and Cornell’s Environmental Systems Lab. They aim to develop plans for projects like a residential community and a community center resilience hub.  The Cornell Daily Sun
  • The state burn ban is in effect through May 14 to reduce wildfire risk as temperatures warm up — small cooking fires and campfires remain permitted, and residents are urged to report illegal burning to the DEC.  607 News Now

  • Cornell men’s hockey clinched a spot at Lake Placid after a 5-2 win in an ECAC quarterfinal at Lynah Rink on Sunday.
