- ➤ Visitors got an up-close look at Tanglewood Nature Center's African pygmy hedgehog Wiggles during Tangle Tuesday. Summer camps starting in July will let the public meet Wiggles and his mother Prickles (the center's popular animal ambassadors). WENY
- ➤ Residents at Hillside Acres in Varna tried to raise $3 million to buy their mobile home park before an out-of-state bidder could take over, but as of their final funding round yesterday the gap remains, putting affordable housing at risk. The Ithaca Voice
- ➤ Newfield prepares for its fourth annual Greenup Day on Saturday, Apr. 18 as community members join founder Mitch Raymond to clean up roadsides and pass on cleanup values to future generations. - ➤ Tompkins Cortland Community College reached an agreement with RIT on March 26 that guarantees junior-year spots with scholarships at Saunders College of Business for accounting, business and hospitality graduates. - ➤ City officials approved The Hive, a mixed-income housing project at 132 Cherry Street, at the March 24 planning board meeting.
