- ➤ Researchers at Cornell University have developed a genetic toolkit based on CRISPR gene editing that allows study of fruit fly cells+ the system, an expansion of the MAGIC method, is now available through community repositories to speed up gene discovery. Cornell Chronicle
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Researchers at Cornell modeled how gene drives to control weeds work, finding that seed banks (underground reservoirs of dormant seeds) slow the spread of engineered changes, suggesting that these seed banks may also serve as a natural safety buffer.
