ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Crews began a $4.7 million upgrade at the Cayuga Heights substation on North Triphammer Rd in Cayuga Heights to add a 34.5 kV capacitor bank that will serve over 5,100 customers. Work started in March and will finish in 2027 — the upgrade is set to support long-term local growth. 607 News Now

- ➤ Students at Ithaca College are calling to simplify the housing accommodations process after facing long delays and confusing communications between Student Accessibility Services and Residential Life. The Residential Hall Association is developing an integrated new system — one that will reduce stress and better meet students’ diverse needs. The Ithacan
- ➤ Ithaca College and TC3 announced April 10 a dual admissions agreement that lets students earn an associate degree at TC3 and transfer to IC to complete a bachelor’s in health sciences, psychology, or biological sciences. The program offers annual scholarships up to $36,000 (with shared advising from both schools). The Ithacan

- ➤ Researchers at Cornell received a $250,000 seed grant today to launch a five-year project using AI to build transparent tools for verifying online communication & ensuring trustworthy digital interactions.
