- ➤ Yesterday, Newfield Public Library hosted a Spacecraft Planetary Imaging Facility presentation on comets, asteroids, and meteorites at 5:30 p.m.—today, Ithaca Commons holds an Earth Day Festival from noon to 5:00 p.m. and the Center for the Arts in Homer features Martin Barre in an acoustic show while Stonecat Café will serve Easter brunch at 10:00 a.m. and The History Center will hold a Sundae Showdown from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on April 20th. 607 News Now

- ➤ On April 11th, Cornell Student and Campus Life held an awards ceremony in Willard Straight Hall that honored 12 students and one staff member for outstanding work in community service, critical thinking and leadership. - ➤ Research from Cornell's SC Johnson College shows that both experienced and new inventors have driven clean energy work over the past 30 years. - ➤ The Common Council in Ithaca is still reviewing a resolution on accessory dwelling units written for non-owner-occupied properties while Deputy Mayor Kayla Matos said residents have given robust feedback on secondary housing—Council members will vote on May 7 and locals can share their views before the decision. 607 News Now
- ➤ The Supreme Court ruled unanimously in favor of Cornell employees (over 30,000 who sued last fall) in a case that makes it easier to challenge retirement plan fees under ERISA, lowering the burden to prove harm. Cornell said it acted in its employees' best interests (the case now returns to lower courts for further review) as legal experts expect more scrutiny on retirement fund management. - ➤ County officials reported Tuesday that Tompkins County jail reached full capacity for its 82 beds and now sends some inmates to facilities in other counties due to a state corrections strike delaying the transfer of five state-sentenced inmates. Officials said 69 inmates stay in-house while 13 are held elsewhere—raising concerns about rising capacity challenges until the state resolves its staffing issues. The Ithaca Voice
