Good morning, Ithaca. Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 27th of April.

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • This April, cold and windy weather slowed bird migration — many local birds, including cardinals and doves, have already started nesting. Experts say early May will bring a tidal wave of arrivals like warblers, orioles and hummingbirds — so birders should prepare to watch them.  Ithaca Journal
  • On Tuesday, over 200 students gathered at Commons for People’s Earth Day to protest federal climate policies and Cornell’s move to exempt its fossil-fuel phase-out plan from local rules. Speakers and youth demanded that the city back the Green New Deal plus that Cornell protect scientific research funding and free speech.  The Ithaca Voice
