- ➤ Finger Lakes ReUse is extending daily hours to 8 p.m. at its Lansing and Ithaca locations to sell a backlog before its Triphammer Road store moves to Cayuga Shopping Center. - ➤ Ithaca College faculty and students fast-tracked a staged concert of selected songs from 'Dreamgirls' to the Ford Hall stage on April 25 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Professors Cynthia Henderson and Dr. Baruch Whitehead led the production that highlights Black musical storytelling — a tribute to cultural resilience. - ➤ A cyanobacteria bloom was discovered on Cayuga Lake near Cayuga on April 23 and experts from the Community Science Institute said it is the earliest on record; the agency will begin monitoring on June 1 (one month earlier than usual). The Ithaca Voice

- ➤ At a April 28 meeting, the Lansing planning board heard TeraWulf present a 401-page site plan for a data center at the old Milliken Station Power Plant; staff and consultants said the application is incomplete while raising concerns on noise, water use, and community benefits. The Ithaca Voice
- ➤ Tompkins County extended its Code Blue shelter on Cherry Street until Monday as weekend temperatures near freezing prompted the move. Residents needing shelter after Monday must contact the Department of Social Services at their regular offices. The Ithaca Voice

- ➤ On April 24, a jogger was bitten by a black poodle along Monkey Run Trail near the Freese Road foot bridge in Varna between 5 and 6 p.m., and health officials from Tompkins County Whole Health Department (Environmental Health Division) seek information to monitor the dog's health over ten days. 607 News Now
