- ➤ Blue Cross Blue Shield will begin distributing part of a $2.67B settlement this month to eligible New Yorkers who had coverage (Feb. 7, 2008, to Oct. 16, 2020) and filed claims by Nov. 5, 2021. Claimants may have received notifications by email. Ithaca Journal

- ➤ WHCU and Cornell rebranded their long-running radio show after marking its 1000th episode on April 28. The program was renamed All Things Local after 19 years as All Things Equal and now focuses on community stories. Cornell Chronicle

- ➤ Thirty Cornell student startups will receive Human Spirit, Beck Fellows, and Cane Entrepreneurial Scholars awards this summer to focus on building their businesses instead of traditional summer jobs (the awards will cover prototypes, lab costs and compensation). - ➤ Cornell received a C grade from the Anti-Defamation League on March 10 for campus antisemitism (with re-grades on April 13 showing no improvement), and a university spokesperson said the grade does not reflect the thriving campus Jewish community. The Cornell Daily Sun
- ➤ Ithaca College is starting a national search for a new chief financial officer as Tim Downs leaves on June 15 for a role at the Institute for Advanced Study. Downs said his departure will have little effect on the college's plans to cut its budget deficit. 607 News Now
- ➤ The Ithacan released results from its audience feedback survey, conducted from April 14-25 and published in the April 30 print issue. - ➤ Ithaca College junior Andrew Mendel, 20, became the youngest head coach in state history after taking charge of Newfield varsity boys basketball.
