- ➤ Dryden's Brownie Troop 60152 sold 15,590 Girl Scout cookie boxes this season at local shops + community events, setting a regional record. The success earned the young scouts trips and badges while supporting local programs. Tompkins Weekly
- ➤ CTB and CampusCares teamed up on a limited-edition Campogatto, a matcha latte with strawberry ice cream priced at $11, to raise funds and support student-led service initiatives; CampusCares will expand these collaborations to more popular Collegetown spots soon. The Cornell Daily Sun
- ➤ Cheesy food fans can join area chefs for the Foodnet Mac 'n Cheese Bowl today at the Ithaca Farmers Market pavilion at Steamboat Landing from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The event helps Foodnet Meals on Wheels and offers tickets for ages 5 and older. 14850

- ➤ Triphammer Marketplace will host its first Flower Festival Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. — featuring vendors, live music and family activities in its indoor atrium. - ➤ LibLab Productions staged an interactive play at the Old Greeny Fringe Festival on April 30. The one-act show, titled I AM GOING TO DIE (And All They Gave Me Were These Lousy Cupcakes), featured Valeria Aveces and a small, engaged audience shaping a story about life and death. - ➤ Teacher Liz Kozlowski of Newfield High School was named one of six winners of the NYS Senate Educators Inspiring a Generation Award last month (presented by Senator Lea Webb) for her innovative teaching and leadership. She has supported about 70 students and guided school programs to boost both academic and personal growth. Tompkins Weekly
- ➤ The Office of Academic Discovery and Impact celebrated its 10th annual Honors Award Ceremony on May 1 at the Statler Ballroom—honoring academic achievement and community support with awards and speeches from students, faculty, and staff. Cornell Chronicle
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tompkins County Board of Elections has opened its Election Sticker Design Contest, inviting students to create red, white, and blue designs celebrating America’s 250th birthday by May 25. Older students (grades 6–12) will design the official 'I Voted' sticker for November’s election while younger students (grades K–5) can enter using an official template available at 128 E.
