- ➤ Cornell's Committee on the Future of the American University recommends that the school shift to a public purpose model by making community engagement a core part of research, teaching and promotion. - ➤ Senator Webb's office awarded $122,770 to Tompkins County Soil and Water Conservation District and $174,500 to Cornell Cooperative Extension in early April to support conservation and renovation at the 4-H Acres campus. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Trumansburg tennis showed strong improvement this spring with a balanced 4-4 record — including a 3-2 win over back-to-back IAC champions Lansing — as coach Eric Murphy, in his final season, said extra practice built the young team’s mental toughness. Tompkins Weekly
- ➤ Lansing won their third division title after going 6-0 in divisional play and improving their batting average to .372. The team will face either Watkins Glen/Odessa-Montour or Thomas A.
