ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • During spring migration in 2025, a record 1.2 billion birds were recorded near Ithaca, though Cornell Lab experts warned that numbers might fall in coming years due to bright lights confusing their flights — switching to bird-friendly lights and using feeders can help support local species.  WENY

HEALTH NEWS

  • Two Orb Funkee Monkees toy models sold at Walmart and Ollie’s are being recalled because their sand may contain asbestos, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission; owners should stop using the toys and contact The Orb Factory for a refund.  607 News Now
