  • Ithaca Festival’s kick-off parade took place Thursday evening with creative groups including a cat rescue with bubble guns, vegetable mascots handing out carrots, a pride march & musicians playing by Fall Creek.  The Cornell Daily Sun

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The state Senate passed the Opioid Patients’ Right to Know Act on May 30 and Albany lawmakers must now bring it to Gov. Hochul for final approval; the bill would require providers to have a brief discussion with patients about opioid risks before issuing initial and third prescriptions.  Ithaca Journal

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ithaca rallied for an 8-7 Class A win at Horseheads High on May 30, and Horseheads took the Class B title 13-3, with Ithaca meeting the Section 3 champion at 5 p.m. and Horseheads facing a Section 2 foe at 7 p.m. on June 3 at Ithaca High.  Ithaca Journal
