- ➤ Living Essence Massage Institute will soon open at 1891 State Route 96 — 10 minutes north of Ithaca and 5 minutes south of Trumansburg, filling a gap since the Finger Lakes School of Massage closed in 2019. - ➤ The 2025 Jiang Fellows at Cornell Engineering have accepted internships to work with startups in areas such as electric vehicles and portable blood testing devices—some will gain experience abroad while others work locally. - ➤ Shortly after noon on Wednesday, June 11, fire crews responded to a chemical reaction at the City of Ithaca Water Treatment Plant on Water Street when plant staff evacuated the building and hazmat experts — including mutual aid and technical support — managed the situation so that by 7:00 p.m. the facility was stabilized with no injuries and drinking water remained safe. - ➤ The Tompkins County Board of Elections said a sticker contest brought 67 submissions from students and 15 finalists are online for residents to vote on until July 4. Flyers with the designs will be posted at polling places for the June primary and special election — a QR code will let residents vote — and the winning 'I Voted' sticker will be used for the November general election.
