Good morning, Ithaca.

Fruit trees in home gardens may not bear fruit when over-fertilizing or heavy pruning uses the tree’s energy for leaf growth instead of flower buds, frost damage kills developing blooms, or poor pollination hinders fruit set—gardeners can boost yields by adjusting care practices like limiting fertilizer near the trees, pruning less, and choosing varieties that bloom later. Local residents are encouraged to make these changes to enjoy better harvests in their yards.
