- ➤ After six months of talks that ended on June 12 without counter offers, hundreds of Ithaca City School District teachers will return to classrooms this fall on an expired contract without annual raises—union leaders say the district's 4.6% annual raise does not keep up with rising living costs. - ➤ Ithaca Common Council held a special work session last week to review revised zoning for Southside that removed off-street parking requirements—voters approved the removal by an 8-2 vote—and made changes to lot sizes, building heights, and district classifications.
