- ➤ Ithaca police arrested Steven Swavely on June 17 for second-degree arson and resisting arrest after his actions during an investigation into fires on May 31 and June 1 at an East Green Street apartment building—his resistance led to a bystander releasing his dog, which caused minor injuries. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tompkins County has named Jennie Sutcliffe as its new Whole Health Commissioner, with a start date of July 7—her appointment is pending final NYS approval as Public Health Director.
