- ➤ The National Weather Service in Binghamton issued an Extreme Heat Watch for Central New York including Ithaca, in effect from noon today until 8 p.m. Wednesday; dangerously hot conditions with heat indices up to 105 degrees and strong to severe storms with hail are expected tonight and residents should take precautions. 14850

- ➤ Cornell University public health experts have launched the Heat Emergency Preparedness Toolkit to help Ithaca residents prepare for extreme summer heat. New York State was issued a five-day heat watch with feels-like temperatures expected to range between 90 and 110 degrees until June 25th – the toolkit offers specific guidance for households, schools and businesses.
