The initiative, managed by Cornell’s Center for Technology Licensing, has already supported 15 projects since 2022 and is expected to help more innovations reach the market.  Cornell Chronicle

  • New York State Police are investigating a break-in at the unoccupied Trip Hotel building on Sheraton Drive in Lansing when two suspects entered around 3:08 a.m. on July 5th and damaged property, with one suspect a shirtless black male in dark colored shorts and the other a female in a black tank top with a large tattoo who was called "Sarah" by the male—officials urge anyone with information to call 607-561-7400—referencing case number NY2500601235.  14850

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Cornell researchers studied 43 students with brain scans and a computer game and found that those from low-income families with strong social support and those from high-income families with little support took similar risks—though their brains worked in different ways. The study shows that the way you grow up can change how your brain handles risk.  Cornell Chronicle
  • The David M. Einhorn Center for Community Engagement awarded nine grants that linked classroom learning with community work, supporting a new sustainability in athletics course, a world languages event with local high schools, and a refugee pathways project + initiatives in robotics, bridge building, and water safety that gave students hands-on experience.  Cornell Chronicle
