ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A pedestrian was struck by a fleeing motorist in Ithaca’s west end late Friday night and suffered life threatening injuries before being airlifted to a local trauma center—police responded at 10:49 p.m. near West Buffalo Street and Taughannock Blvd—while investigators ask for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. 14850
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Gas prices in New York reached an average of $3.10 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday, up from $3.06 last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration—prices that are about 2.5% lower than the national average. Ithaca Journal

- ➤ Cyclists are riding today for the 27th annual AIDS Ride for Life as they depart from Stewart Park at 7 a.m. and pedal routes between 14 and 102 miles around Cayuga Lake (Ithaca) while supporters are asked to donate online and cheer at key stops. 14850

- ➤ Big Red Field Hockey will open its season indoors at Barton Hall—because the new Marsha Dodson Field is unfinished, the game against Colgate is set for 2pm Saturday after Friday's match was postponed. A Sunday matchup with Albany was also postponed and will be rescheduled in October. 14850
