  • Ross Dress for Less will open its first store in the Ithaca area next month at the Cayuga Shopping Center in Lansing—replacing the former JOANN Fabrics site—with a grand opening set for October 11.  14850

  • Ithaca Porchfest today features over 160 artists showing their music on porches, yards and community spaces in the Fall Creek neighborhood. This free festival runs from noon to 6 p.m. and brings local school groups, food trucks and community vendors together — a tradition started in 2007.  The Ithaca Voice

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Ithaca College Parking Services raised the upper-class parking permit price to $225 from $152 for the upcoming academic year. The new fee exceeds policy guidelines—students can choose a weekly payment plan if they need help with the cost.  The Ithacan

  • Tompkins County homes were listed at a median price of $439,000 in August—down slightly from the previous month and 9.9% higher than last August, according to Realtor.com data. Listings averaged 2,164 square feet and stayed on the market for a median of 46 days.  Ithaca Journal
