TeraWulf Inc. signed an 80-year deal for 183 acres of the old Cayuga Power Plant in Lansing to build a data center that will use high-power computers for AI and other tasks.

Local leaders worry the project may use up to 400 megawatts—more than four times Tompkins County’s usual power—while TeraWulf says most energy will come from clean sources.
