EDUCATION NEWS

  • At Ithaca College, students trained guide dogs through the campus chapter of Guiding Eyes for the Blind by working with 12 puppies to build basic skills; seven of these puppies passed their initial guide test and moved on to formal harness training. This hands-on program lets student volunteers learn real-world care and training techniques for future guide dog work.  The Ithacan

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ithaca College men’s soccer lost 3-2 to the Hobart Statesmen at Carp Wood Field on Oct 8—this loss marked a three-game losing streak. Head coach Gabe Kuhn said the team struggled to capitalize on early opportunities and must limit mistakes in future matches.  The Ithacan
  • Football games on Friday and Saturday saw strong wins as Waverly held Maine Endwell 28 to 20 when Ben Shaw threw a decisive touchdown pass in the final minute and Corning beat Binghamton with Clayton Smith rushing for 239 yards and scoring four touchdowns. Union Endicott handed Horseheads its first loss while Sus Valley, Norwich, Edison, and Watkins Glen and Odessa Montour won their contests — key players like Zack Parker and Jace Schiller led decisive plays that boosted team standings for upcoming games.  Ithaca Journal
