Stephen St. Francis Decky, an assistant professor in media arts, published his debut novel 'Werewolf Movie' on Oct.
21 by Frayed Edge Press—set in the late ’80s and blending horror with music. He will host a book talk and screening on Oct. 28 and then promote the novel at events in Boston, Philadelphia and New York starting Nov. 7.
🎓 Education
Ithaca College administrators provided updates on enrollment, academic program development, finances and philanthropy at the Oct.
21 meeting in Emerson Suites—reporting on record 2,040 applications, reaccreditation progress and plans to reduce a nearly $10 million deficit. They also outlined new academic initiatives—such as a redesigned musical theatre curriculum and improved transfer pathways—to help increase enrollment for upcoming terms.

At the STAC cross country meet on October 25 at Ann G.
McGuinness School in Endicott—Bryce Hammond led the Corning boys to reclaim the title and Tsadia Bercuvitz helped the Ithaca girls repeat as champions. Corning scored 26 points while Ithaca earned 34, setting up both teams for their next competitions.
The Ithaca College women’s soccer team lost 1-0 to the RIT Tigers on Oct.
21 at Carp Wood Field when RIT’s Lindsay Ford scored early in the game— the Bombers created many chances but did not score and now need two wins in three Liberty League games to earn a playoff spot, head coach Mindy Quigg said.
