- ➤ Nurses from Cayuga Medical Center gathered outside Ithaca Town Hall on Dec. 20 to build support for their Jan. 14 union vote overseen by the National Labor Relations Board and to seek better pay and safer staffing levels. Ithaca.com

- ➤ Owner Nick Acquilano of Red’s Place announced the downtown eatery will close on New Year’s Eve after serving the community for 11 years — the restaurant will remain open through Dec. 31 with adjusted hours. 14850
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Beginning today, the Tompkins County Recycling and Solid Waste Center in Ithaca will accept all real Christmas trees free of charge; trees must have decorations removed before drop-off. The center is open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., through Jan. 31 (visitors must obtain a recycling ticket at the scale house). 607 News Now

- ➤ Wegmans has recalled its So Delicious Dairy Free Non-Dairy Cashewmilk Salted Caramel Cluster Frozen Desserts, warning shoppers that some batches may contain stones and hard objects.
