Effective leadership begins with knowing yourself and communicating your value with intention. In this "Leading Self" Student Leadership Institute session, Jonathan Chalmers, Career Engagement Specialist for Ithaca College School of Business, will guide students through the process of developing an authentic personal brand. Participants will reflect on who they are, what they want to be known for, and how their actions, relationships, and online presence shape others' perceptions. The session will also offer concrete strategies for researching industries, connecting with professionals, preparing an elevator pitch, embracing networking, and gathering recommendations that reinforce their strengths. Students will leave with a clearer understanding of how personal branding can support leadership, career readiness, and continued growth, along with practical next steps for sharing their story confidently and authentically.
