Reading and Writing Poetry

About this event

✍🏼💖Poetry, what is it? What makes a poem move us to feeling🥹💕😂😔, thought, or both? These workshops approach poetry with a “beginner’s mind,” looking closely at beloved poems to learn how sounds👂, images🖼, and other elements combine to create this particular form of art. We’ll also try our hand at making our own poems, with sharing and discussion warmly encouraged.

Instructor | Mary Beth O’Connor taught Creative Writing at Ithaca College for twenty years. She lives out in Caroline in an old farmhouse that used to be a commune and does a lot of mowing. Autumn is her favorite season.
